The IRS has been after R. Kelly for the $4.8 million he owes in taxes which accumalated over 5 years of unpaid taxes (2005-2010), and in the last year he failed to pay the IRS $1.379 million for his reported income in 2011. That brings his total to over $6.2 Million!

R. Kelly’s financial difficulties have been no secret to the public, last December he had to put his mansion on the market as a short sale because he could not afford it.

Since the news hit the media about R. Kelly tax lien, Reps have commented saying Kelly understands how serious it is to pay the unpaid taxes, but he simply cannot pay it right now.

Rumors have been swirling around about a possible new Album, Tour and also additional “Trapped in the closet” movies, so it looks like R. Kelly does not plan on going to jail for taxes anytime soon.
